Pick-Your-Own Strawberries in Portsmouth This Weekend

Here's a look at where strawberries are still available in Portsmouth and throughout the state.

The following is from a press release.

The Department of Environmental Management’s Division of Agriculture reports that although we are near the end of the strawberry season, locally-grown strawberries are still available at pick-your-own berry farms in Exeter, Johnston and Portsmouth.

DEM Director Janet Coit knows first-hand how excellent the strawberry harvest is at local Rhode Island farms.

“Last weekend, my daughter and I picked quarts of beautiful, sweet, succulent strawberries. There are oodles of them, and they are fun to pick. So my hot tip for this weekend is: Go pick local strawberries – they are out-of-this-world delicious!”

“By visiting pick-your-own berry farms you know you're getting fresh, local product, you choose the berries, and it’s fun for the whole family,” says Ken Ayars, chief of DEM’s Division of Agriculture.
