Have you Met the Greenvale Vineyards' Dogs?

There's Maude, Maggie, Rex and Rocky and they roam the farm, greet visitors and "they've become such a part of this place that all of us who work here know that it just wouldn't be the same without them."

One highlight of visiting Greenvale Vineyards isn't about wine, food, gifts, scenic views or anything else you'd expect to find at the Portsmouth vineyard on Wapping Road.

It's the dogs.

There's Maude, Maggie, Rex and Rocky and they roam the farm, greet visitors and "they've become such a part of this place that all of us who work here know that it just wouldn't be the same without them," the vineyard said in a post to its blog.

Maude likes to hang out with Richard, the winemaker, when he's inspecting the vines.

Maggie likes being with vineyard owner Nancy. Rex sticks with Tracey, a longtime employee who just got a job as vineyard manager over at a farm in Jamestown. And don't worry — she still visits and brings Rex with her.

Then there's Rocky, who actually lives nearby at the Vickers residence but likes to "check in on things and explore the farm."

The vineyard has put together a "roll call" of the animals on the farm so you can say hi the next time you visit.

And if you've never been to Greenvale Vineyards, consider this a nudge. Along with great wine, the vineyard hosts events, wine tastings, pairings, outdoor fun and more.

Greenvale Vineyards is located at 582 Wapping Road in Portsmouth. You can check them out on Facebook.
