If you (gasp) actually leave Aquidneck Island and head to the Rhode Island Spring Flower and Garden Show this weekend, you might see a familiar name or two.
Portsmouth's own landscapers are hoping to "grow" a few prizes at New England's premiere flower show, which runs Thursday through Sunday at the Rhode Island Convention Center.
"We're displaying the work we do outside of the store," said Doug Domina, owner of Domina's Agway, who has exhibited at the flower show for about six years. "We're trying to showcase what we're capable of and what someone would like in their own backyard."
Domina, along with his wife and son, Marc, also own and operate a landscaping business outside of the store. A sneak peek of their 2012 flower show exhibit can be seen in the photo above.
The flower show runs Thursday to Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sunday from 9 to 6 at the convention center. For more information or to purchase tickets to the show, click here.
