Roger and Hammerstein's Carousel

Rehearsals are underway for the Portsmouth Community Theater production of Rogers and Hammerstein's Carousel. The musical is set in a New England coastal town in the 1870s and revolves around the characters of a Carousel barker (Billy Bigelow) and his sweetheart (Julie Jordan). Audiences will be familiar with their duet of "If I loved You" as well as classic songs like "You'll Never Walk Alone" and "June is Busting Out All Over."   The production is being directd by Cindy Killavey and will include several children and dancers.

The musical will be presented August 22-26 at the Aquidneck Island Christian Academy, 321 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Shows will be at 7 PM Wednesday-Saturday and at 1 pm on Sunday.  Tickets are $9.00. Call 683-1460 to reserve your spots.
