Nothing says "snow day" like gathering up the kids and heading to the nearest sledding hill for hours of winter fun.

This first storm of 2014 has dumped plenty of snow for sledding fun.

We asked users on Portsmouth Patch's Facebook page where they like to sled in town. Here's what they had to say:

Tara Rudman i like hathaway

Kendra Ringuette Jenkins We live across from the middle school. The hill in the back is perfect for us and our 4 year old

Betsy McCabe Kings Grant is fun and convenient to me! Maybe not as fun for older kids, but up through 7 or so its perfect.

I grew up close to Water Street and the best sledding place ever was that steep hill behind the big white house overlooking Power Street Beach. All the kids in our neighborhood would gather there with our sleds and tobbogans. Some of my fondest memories. Diane Iglesias Carruba
