Bullseye! Girl Scouts get Special Archery Permissions at Glen Park

The scouts promised to keep the event, reserved for older Girl Scouts, well supervised.

Portsmouth Girl Scouts upset about an archery prohibition at Glen Park took aim at the issue and hit their target after the Town Council Monday night granted them special permission to have archery sessions in the park at a May camp out.

EasyBayRI.com reported that the council voted unanimsouly to grant permission for the girl scouts to shoot arrows in the park's fenced horse rink.

Glen Park panel Chairwoman Grace Kinnunen said the panel had concerns about the activity in a public setting for safety reasons. It also might make others think anyone could do it.

But the scouts promised to keep the situation tightly supervised.
