Repaving Bristol Ferry Road

Hopefully RIDOT will have the sense to do the paving after Labor Day, when the beach traffic, vacationers and high school drivers are not adding to the inevitable congestion from closing this major egress road from the Island.  Crews have been working on raising the storm drain covers on both sides of Bristol Ferry Road in preparation for the repaving. Despite a few fender benders  from the extensive afternoon back-up in the single northbound lane, the road diet appears to have won out. Due to complaints regarding difficulty entering the road from Shoreline Terrace & Barkers Lane, RIDOT was instructed to lengthen the double lane, as much as possible, preferably back to Cherokee.  Let's hope they also eliminate the ridiculously confusing 2 lanes at the south intersection with W. Main, Sprague & Turnpike. Coming up from W. Main and making a blind turn with less than 3 car lengths, it's an accident waiting to happen as drivers try to "beat the light". This would also include placing "left turn only" arrow on left lane of Turnpike.
