DESCRIPTION:Four week class series on Sundays from 4-5:30pmOctober 21\, O
ctober 28\, November 11\, November 18$100 for all classes\, or drop in f
or $30 per classIn this class students will use yoga postures to help re
lease the mental and physical stress/obstacles that can get in the way o
f writing. Whether you write for pleasure or necessity\, opening the min
d and body is essential to ANY writing experience.Hannah will begin the
class with gentle stretching\, brief meditation\, and move to a special
asana practice for writers. In the second half\, students will be guided
into the writing experience\, and then close with a special shavasana f
or writers."As writers\, we have our "practice" of writing much like a s
tudent of yoga has his or her asana practice. We try to practice daily b
y journaling\, where we can create stories or vent our feelings. Our pra
ctice is our own\, dictated by what we need in the moment\, not by outsi
de forces\, but from within. Sometimes it is hard to figure out what we
need\, but I try to help students with this by accessing the higher mind
and focusing on the inner-self. Writing can be the same kind of release
as yoga\, which allows us to let go of the ego. In doing this\, we are
better able to express and create\, despite\, or even alongside\, any fe
ar we may feel." ~ Hannah GoodmanSpace is limited in this workshop\, so
