Open House at the Portsmouth Fire Statioon

The Portsmouth Fire Department will be hosting an open house at the fire station on Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.  Please bring your family and friends to visit the fire station.  Take a tour of the station, view our apparatus, which includes two, 2011 E1 pumpers and a 95 foot tower ladder.  Check out our three ambulances, and two boats, that are housed here.  Firefighters will be on hand to answer questions about the day-today operations of the department, and how we respond to emergency calls.  Fire prevention education will be available, and kids will be provided with fire safety coloring books. Visitors can take a tour of the Town’s Emergency Operations Center, located upstairs in the station.  The Town of Portsmouth’s EMA Director will be on hand to answer questions about the EOC and how it functions during a large scale emergency such as a hurricane.  Children can look through the trucks and have an opportunity to use a real fire hose.  Light food will also be provided and there is no cost.
