 p\; Athletic Complex by Spring 2013\n&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;\nFriends of the PH
 S Arts &amp\; Athletic Complex&nbsp\;is a group of&nbsp\;dedicated paren
 ts and school administrators who support&nbsp\;athletics\, music\, youth
  sports and extracurricular activities at Portsmouth High School in Rhod
 e Island. This group has organized a massive 1.6 million fundraising cam
 paign to replace the 25 year old running track and the overused central 
 athletic field. The committee members are: Dr. Lynn Krizic\; Superintend
 ent of Portsmouth Schools\, Stephen Trezvant\; Portsmouth High School&rs
 quo\;s Athletic Director\, Ed &amp\; Julia Coll\, Keith Hamilton\, Ted C
 lement\, Gary Eggeman and Christine Jenkins.\n&nbsp\;\nThe Portsmouth sc
 hool committee\, administration and key faculty have agreed that this is
  a very worthwhile and long overdue effort. The existing track is non-re
 gulation size\, can no longer be resurfaced\, and the community may not 
 host any league meets. The central field&nbsp\;is saved for games only a
 nd is in deplorable condition. The new proposed &ldquo\;synthetic turf&r
 dquo\; field and track will be a centerpiece for the Portsmouth communit
 y\, young and old.&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;\nThe cost of the new track and field 
 is approximately $1.6 million. We have already raised a $500\,000 challe
 nge grant and we are now seeking matching funds! We are asking you to jo
 in us in this community effort by making a contribution.&nbsp\;Our goal 
 is to &ldquo\;break ground&rdquo\; by June 2013 in order for the complex
  to be completed by the September 2013 school year.\n&nbsp\;\nDonations 
 of any sizes are needed and very much appreciated! ALL tax deductible do
 nations will be accepted through the Portsmouth High School Athletic Boo
 sters Club\, a 501(C)3 organization. A special&nbsp\; account has been s
 et-up exclusively for the Arts &amp\; Athletic Complex project.\n&nbsp\;
 \nYou will receive a tax deductible receipt from the PHS Athletic Booste
 rs once your donation has been processed. Checks can be made out to PHS 
 Athletic Boosters with &ldquo\;Arts and Athletic Complex&rdquo\; written
  in the memo\, and mailed to PHS Athletic Boosters\, P.O. Box 438\, Port
 smouth\,  RI 02871.
