The Andréa Rizzo Foundation’s 11th Annual Walk for the Children—a 2-mile scenic stroll along the Newport Cliff Walk—will benefit children with cancer and special needs at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and local public schools. Individuals, families or teams are invited to sign in on the day of the event. No pre-registration required.
This is a free family event, with refreshments, raffles and a $500 prize for the top pledge raising team to donate to their favorite charitable organization. Teams can walk in honor of someone’s memory or in support of a favorite organization.
There will also be a kids’ activity booth and dance performances by Kinetic Synergy Dance Co., Gladdings School of Dance, Rosemary School of Dance Education, SRU Dance and other local dance companies before and after the walk. Ben & Jerry’s of 539 Thames Street, Newport, will donate ice cream for walkers.
