  Newport Children's Theatre presents "Peter Pan" at the Portsmouth Middle School this weekend. The Hidden Kitchens Tour of Portsmouth is today from 11 am to 7 pm.  This benefit for Portsmouth Public Education Foundation offers a visit to seven unique kitchens in town, with special food and drink tasting. Saturday and Sunday, May 5-6, are free fishing days in Rhode Island. During those two days, all Rhode Islanders and visitors can fish in freshwaters without a fishing license or trout conservation stamp.
