Oh wow, Judi. When you were council VP you and Joe Robicheau were the moving forces behindRead Moreunceremon iously dumping Bob Driscoll as Town Administrator. Talk about a personal vendetta. Years of service and experience and pushed out the door but hey, everything was going to be fine once we got rid of Driscoll. How's that working out for you? YOU and your PCC/Republican colleagues hired Mr. Klimm, now you're not so happy with him because he's not doing what you and your friend/Republican candidate/wife of ferry owner, Erica Medley want him to do?

Judi Staven, thank you for your in depth response to my post, I too feel there has been some backRead Moredo or shenanigans going on with this, and I'm not even involved with the politics. As far as "harold" and "SP, I am not Judy Staven, my name is Mary and I am a Prudence resident, who doesn't wish to have the Prudence powers that be come down on me for disagreeing with this whole plan. Thanks again Judi for your support, I honestly believe this whole dock plan is a bad move for all us taxpayers, and especially residents of Prudence.

At least Portsmouth has tried to do something about the green house gas issue by using free wind I Read Moresee that there are many coal mines in the state as well as oil wells and gas tracking rigs. We are so obviously rich in natural resources for our many power plants. RI is SO rich in natural resources I have no idea why we need wind power Oh just for my data base how many power plants are there in RI? and where do they get there fuel from? I think there is one in Providance, so which state do we get our power from?

@Andrew Naylor, most of the electric power in the Northeast of the US comes from clean, renewableRead Morehy droelectric which is "shipped" in on high-tension power lines from Canada.

Bill the 1st: 52% of New England's electricity comes from natural gas generation. That would mean Read Morethat your definition of "most" fails any real scrutiny. At this time, 16% of NE's electricity comes from renewable sources.

My favorite is the signs that tell you to take some left turn in Providence and then that's theRead Morelast sign you see unless you look down a side street to see that you were supposed to take another turn. I was so busy focusing on this one issue that I noticed while driving the other day, that I didn't think of all the other things ... e.g., "optional" house and building numbers would be another.

Behind the closed door - is both the state & town tax payers & public utility rate payersRead Moreb eing prep ed for a further "donation by force of government"? Yes, in another attempt to bail out the failed Portsmouth Wind Turbine? If yes then the mining of fools gold continues that surely will result in an open ended additional cost obligation.. Yes, today the cost of termination is quantified tomorrow entering into open ended activities in an attempt to attain operational status exposes unquantified finical & technical risk e.g. once again an open ended who knows?
William F Horan May 29, 2014 at 08:34 PM
The Portsmouth Industrial Wind Turbine Generator has additional issues beyond the now wellRead Moredocumente d gear box reliability. We recall conversations concerning the fact that the IWTG design & implementation does not reflect a standard Industry certified type accepted design. For example one of many issues along the path of discussion was that on board automated management control system having several functions (sensors hardware, firmware & software) not integrated & activated as compared to that vendors and or other IWT Generators of that same design generation. Over the advertised 20 year operational life can one even characterize what costly operational & life cycle maintenance requiring a predictable supply chain issues will materialize in this one of design? Further more a high likelihood of shorting the IWTG useful life. Again resulting in an open ended venture lacking a quantifiable - predictable economic outcome. Yes, still an open ended finical exposure.
William F Horan June 01, 2014 at 01:07 PM
Today Bill Carson made reference to the Portsmouth Industrial Wind Turbine Generator report whereRead MoreIW TG Blades having not been inspected and that blade assembly condition remains a TBD. More unquantified finical risk for this unique one of IWTG that is not a certified type accepted design.

Portsmouth Industrial wind turbine generator is fools gold. Repairing and or installing an evenRead Morelarg er unit so close to the Portsmouth High School and or hill / road cut adjacent to Rt 24 is ill advised and dangerous. We must make sure that the RI General Assembly & RI PUC does not approve yet another RI General Assembly back room deal of rigged above prevailing market rates for electricity for such a project. The tax payers and public utility rate payers have had enough of the totalitarian socialism economic terrorism. The global warming by any one of its re badged names is a scam, hoax and con job that credible professionals are finally speaking out on! Just look to Germany, Spain & England for their experience with the failure of Industrial Wind Turbine Farms & Solar Farms and its impact on their economies. Why should we repeat that mistake here in RI (already a last place economy).
