. Reagan increased the national debt by over 250% in less than 8 years time with no active wars.Read MoreBus h Sr. increased the debt another 66% in just 4 years with no ongoing wars, Bush Jr. increased the national debt another 90% in 8 years when he inherited BUDGET SURPLUSES, and no wars. When Bush left office he left behind massive new debt, no jobs, a major recession, two wars, and growing national debt. But then the tea party comes along and wants it to all go away. They want the country to stop spending money at a time when unemployment is growing. Show me a single time in history, just one, when the US was spending less money during a recession. It doesn't happen. As people are out of work the government takes in less in taxation. This is not the time to reduce government spending which will drive the country into a depression. The tea nuts know NOTHING about economics and how it works. They are like little children throwing a temper tantrum.

I'm with you. We don't like one blog dominating the whole platform, either. An entirely newRead Moreplatform is in the works that will do a much better job keeping local content front and center and solve a lot of the issues that came about when the site was redesigned last year. We're a new company now and in the process of making the business sustainable. You're not the only person that has raised these issues and we're taking them to heart. The new platform will do a better job presenting local news and info separately from national content within the Patch network. As you can see, and as you accurately point out, there isn't much distinction at all and that's not fair to the users. And us editors feel the same way. The pit bull blog isn't there because we want clicks and comments. It's because the platform need to be fixed. If the platform really rewarded people for posting blogs and on the boards, that blog would be drowned out by all the great local stuff happening. But the redesign last year didn't bring about many rewards for users and that is part of what we're fixing now.

How many times are you going to post your discontent on this one site>? Converting BF Rd is aRead Moresaf ety upgrade. As I stated in your other post - Then one would expect to see the same on the already converted Turnpike ave, East & West Main Roads. This is just not happening and what you think you're going to see is a projection into the future with no foundation to base it on. All of the already converted roads are running smoothly and are SAFER!

Rifleman's Creed[1] This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My rifle is myRead Moreb est friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will... My rifle and I know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit... My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will keep my rifle clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will... Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and I are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life. So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but peace!

I was at the State House Wed. when the Anti Gun nuts presented their legislation . They always useRead Moret he dead children from mass shootings to add emotion to the argument . Countering the argument were several hundred RI residents who hunt ,belong to gun clubs ,and own guns for personal protection . Their argument is the legislation does nothing but restrict honest gun owners while allowing criminals to flourish . Personal protection is paramount to survival when confronted by people with criminal intent . Jason Pleau September 20, 2010 robbed and murdered David D. Main . If RI had a right to carry law he might very well be alive today

I wonder if the people with complaints about the PHS cheerleaders ever go support the cheerleadersRead Morec ompeting? I'd put my money on NO!

My intention is to point out the hard work, dedication, and success of the cheerleading team. IRead Morejust wish that the cheerleaders could cheer at the basketball games. DB, I attended at least seven home varsity games...more than half. The cheerleaders weren't at ANY of the games I attended so they had to have missed more than three. But, you say it's impossible to assign just a few of the girls to each home game (i.e. 4-5 different girls for each home game). Why? Why can't just a fraction of the team be assigned to each home game instead of making all the girls attend all the game (or none of them)? Again, I'm congratulating the team. I'd just like to see them more often but attending cheerleading competition just isn't my thing.

There is a time travel needed here, Competitive Cheerleading in 2014 is a sport in its own right!Read MoreIn the past the ladies cheered for their boys, today they are gymnasts, weight lifters, expected to perform aerobically and be dancers. They are expected to perform this two and one half minute routine with a smile on their face and joy in their voices. This feat takes great skill, concentration and strength! They practice, like any other RIIL sports because it is a sport! Unfortunately their sport is in the same season as basketball! As a courtesy they do attend basketball games because they choose to do so! It is virtually impossible for them to attend all games! Thank you for wishing us well, we wish all the sports teams well! If you missed seeing us perform we will be at all the Football games this fall as that sport does not coincide with our season! Wish all my ladies a great day tomorrow! A family of champions now and forever!

Joe, if you don't want any comments on your teabagger rhetoric, don't post them on a bulletinRead Moreboard. The baggers using children as the reason they don't want to pay ANY taxes is a joke and insulting. Why don't you people just tell the truth and admit you don't want to pay any taxes? You used the elderly, poor and those on a fixed income to support your platform in Tiverton and then when elected did NOTHING for them. If you really cared you would have raised the exemption for these folks. You really only care about yourselves.
