An early Christmas gift is the works as the Portsmouth Community Theater begins rehearsals for "A Christmas Pudding." The ingredients in this pudding are traditional carols and readings adapted by David Birney. Old favorites like Virginia's letter about Santa Claus and Gift of the Magi by O. Henry will by read by the PCT actors and their strong voices will lead the audience in such carols as "Deck the Halls" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen."
Because this is a gift, admission is free. Performances will be at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Friday, November 23rd and Saturday, November 24th at 7 p.m. The Sunday, November 25th performance is at 2 p.m.
The weekend after Thanksgiving usually becomes a blur of Christmas shopping, but this production offers an opportunity to get into the holiday spirit of Christmas.
