Updated: Where and When to Find a Christmas Church Service in Portsmouth

Looking to attend midnight Mass or a Christmas service? Here's a look at where to find services on Saturday and Sunday.

 

Updated Saturday at 2:48 p.m.: A service has been added below. The time has also been changed for the Portsmouth United Methodist's Christmas Day service. 

Looking to find a midnight Mass, but don't know where to go? Or, maybe you missed your church's service by an hour and need to find an alternative place to worship?

Below is a list of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day religious services happening in Portsmouth this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 24 and 25.

Christmas Eve

Noon

4 p.m.

  • A Christmas pageant and Holy Eucharist will be held in St. George's Chapel at St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
  • St. Barnabas Church will hold a service on Christmas Eve at 4 p.m. in the church and at 4 p.m. in the parish hall.

5 p.m.

6 p.m.

  • St. Mary's Episcopal Church will hold Holy Eucharist and music. 

6:30 p.m.

7:30 p.m.

  • The Portsmouth United Methodist Church will host a Family Candlelight Service. 

8:30 p.m.

  • St. Mary's Episcopal Church will hold Holy Eucharist and music. 

10 p.m.

  • St. Barnabas Church will hold a service. 

10:30 p.m.

  • The Portsmouth United Methodist Church will hold a Christmas Eve Communion Service. 

11 p.m.

  • St. Anthony's Church will hold a Christmas vigil. 

Midnight

Christmas Day

7 a.m. 

8 a.m.

9 a.m.

  • St. Anthony's Church will celebrate a Mass at 9 a.m.
  • The church at the Portsmouth Abbey will celebrate a Mass.

10 a.m.

10:30 a.m.
