Hi McGee, great work, love the portsmouth patch, but wanted to point out an error in your column on the openings for New Years Ever. I just left the Transfer Station at 3PM and it was totally closed. As a father who travels to Boston for work, getting to the Transfer station is a harrowing task. I often work Saturday's and my opportunity to hit the dump is 3-4 on Saturdays or maybe I will be lucky and get home at 6 on a Thursday and scramble everything over there. What I have found is that whomever runs the station feels free to close up shop whenever they see fit, often 15-30 minutes early, and at least an hour today. This is absolutely unacceptable and I vow vengeance. It is not as if the service is free for residents...we pay for that Sticker and it must be opened as advertised. I will be taking this up with the Better Business Bureau but I am organizing the BOYCOTT the Transfer Station rally. Only if enough people stop buying stickers will they feel our pain. If we went to a town pickup, wouldn't the world be a better place. Now we have two overflowing barrels on my front lawn that I know the crows will get into tonight. You think I am angry now, wait until I spend an hour on New Year's day picking trash out of my neighbor's bushes.
