I love the stretch of West Main Road between Headly Street and Mill Lane.

I love the common sense....nah....the beaches are nice...well worth a hundred and change. The main roads are great for offroading, and its really cool we have our own huge statue by the high school, I swear it used to move. But to be serious the best thing about this town is its locals. We put up with so much and get so very little but still march forward. My vote would go towards the memories. Cause thats all I have anymore.

I love that what tops concerns here are Windmills, beach access, and blizzard clean-up... this is a safe community (nothing to take for granted, take it from this Chicago native) with great folks ready to lend a hand when needed. The view's not too shabby either... Ask this question again at the end of summer and I may just tell you it's the new Ice Cream/Snack place they're putting in on Park & Cottage... very happy to see this coming!

Best thing about Portsmouth...its a easy drive to anywhere else to "do" something. lol. But your right the view is nice...if your lucky to have it and afford it.

I love the friends we have made since we moved here 11 years ago. I love hanging out at McCorrie Beach grilling dinner with friends in the summer. I love going to my son's basketball games and seeing 1/2 of Portsmouth there. I love waking up to the sunrise over the Sakonnet River. I love being able to kayak without having to drive far. I love that 2nd Beach is only 10 minutes away. Love the sandwiches & ice cream at Anna D Cafe, the nachos at Fieldstone's and anything from Flo's. I love that I can rely on my neighbors for anything. I love the fact that there are volunteers who formed a committee to celebrate our 375th Birthday! I love the Portsmouth high school band and the teachers who help my son enjoy his high school experience (and all the others who have helped him along the way).

Though a lot of people can find a lot of things to complain about here in Portsmouth or Rhode Island.......I love it here and will continue to find more things to love about it.

Very peaceful and safe neighborhoods here to raise a family. And the beautiful water that surrounds us!

The dump (transfer station), I love to always wait and watch the guy drive the Bobcat in the cardboard recycle bin for 15 minutes while I attempt to access the pits. It's my time to meditate and it's more economical than yoga ($135 annual).

I love the "free' egress and entrance from the island on the north end.
