Remember when gym class just involved running in circles and those pesky blisters on your hands from climbing a rope?

Today, students are being given new ways to stretch their muscles, as well as find inner peace.

For the past four years, The Pennfield School has offered yoga to its students as part of the curriculum. Students in preschool to grade 3 are learning yoga postures and how to control their breathing.

Featured above is a video of these young yogis stretching and balancing in poses on Friday morning.

A program is also offered to the public. A Yogini Yoga Class and Storytime is held on Thursdays from 9:15 to 10 a.m. for children, ages 3 to 5.

For more information about this program or to register, e-mail yoga@pennfield.org or call (401) 849-4646.
