Here are five things you should know today in Portsmouth.
- Another beach day! Today should be mostly sunny with a high of 81.
- The Portsmouth Town Council will meet tonight at 7 pm. The School Committee meets at 6:30 pm.
- Speaking of school - the first day of school in Portsmouth is two weeks from today, Aug. 28.
- Tonight's concert at Sweet Berry Farm in Middletown features Michelle Lewis.
- It's Movie Day at the Sachuest Point Wildlife Refuge, at 1 pm.

Send those emails to Whitehouse Reed and Cicilline
I sent this Email out to our congressional leaders . Send that email now and we have a chance to stop this.
The transfer of the bridges requires Federal approval . We need you to step in to stop this transfer. The Federal Highway Admin. has the application . We need action fast to stop this from happening. This will hurt businesses on and off the island. It's not to late to stop this plan and save our businesses .

Town Council : Wind Turbine Gearbox Replacement tonight -Item 3 under old business.
The town has had the two months since the catastrophic breakdown. Have they hired a true third party independent turbine engineer with no ties to the wind industry ?
Let's see if anyone did a little research. The wind turbine does not in fact live up to the claims made by its advocates who presented studies in favor of building a wind turbine.
The turbine has such a poor record and prospect the money spent on it could have be much more effectively directed somewhere else . The Town Council has a field test right in front of them - The project is a failure .
