Trick-or-Treating Without Power, Not Sure What To Do?

Should those in dark neighborhoods postpone Halloween activities, or head to other, powered, areas?

There's scary, and there's SCARY. Trick-or-treating without light of any kind (street lights, house lights, etc.) may be a bit much. So those residents without power are wondering what to do?

One idea is to travel to a neighborhood with power. Another is to postpone Halloween for a day or two or three.

Gov. Lincoln Chafee issued a press release encouraging caution tonight.

"Our state is still dealing with the effects of Hurricane Sandy. These include extensive damage to roadways and sidewalks, fallen trees, downed power lines, and widespread power outages. Anyone out – whether driving or on foot – in areas with debris and without power must exercise extreme caution and vigilance."

What do you think – should everything proceed as usual or should we postpone Halloween until power's restored?

I guess nobody is old enough to remember flashlights? You do not run around in the neighborhood at night if you know wires are down. Called common sense. Here on the Third Coast by 7PM CST I was finished with about 2 dozen little kids coming by where the lights were glowing on the garage and front porch. I was sitting in the driveway with shorts and T shirst bare footed and it was a nice 73 degrees and a light wind. Great evening to sit out there and hand out candy to the little ones.
