TELL US: Who Makes a Difference in Portsmouth?
Help showcase people who are doing great things in your community.
Your neighbor who volunteers at the library, your child’s bus driver, and the Little League coach in your community may not seem to have much in common at first glance.
But Patch’s new initiative, Count Us In, aspires to bring together all Good Samaritans by highlighting residents who are exemplary at making your community a more positive place.
Partnering with Harvard Pilgrim Health Care (HPHC), Count Us In aims to illustrate HPHC's values. They believe that “amazing things happen when people work together” and that is why we want to share stories about just that.
If you know someone who exemplifies being a good neighbor, volunteer or teacher—or someone who has simply helped the community in an inspiring way—please tell us about it in the comments section below.

Bunny Miller and Genny Croll were the Girl Scout Leaders, who first taught me the importance of being community minded. There have been so many since then that I could fill a book. The people that have donated their time and energy to Portsmouth Youth Football (Eric Chappell, Cort Chappell, Duncan Ingraham etc...), the men and women who have supported Boy Scouts of America in Portsmouth (Justin Mostert, Deb Lawerence, Ed Hoak etc...), people who have served on Association Boards (Lori Rinkel, Terri Cortvriend, John McDiad, Paula Bradley etc...), people who teach or have taught in Portsmouth (Kim Cunningham, Monica Taft, Donald Richards etc...), the people who serve and who wish to serve this community as elected officials (Dennis Canario, Jim Seveney, Len Katzman, my son Andrew Kelly etc...) and anyone who is serving or has served in the military (Chris Hedgecorth, Chris MacGibbon, David MacGibbon etc...). Portsmouth is full of community minded individuals!

Mike Mello, Chairman of the Board of the Portsmouth Free Public Library for almost as long as I can remember. Children, teens, young adults, seniors, wealthy, middle income and struggling, every segment of our community has benefited from the thousands of hours of dedicated service he has given to the library,
