A video mocking the Islam founding prophet may have sparked an attack in Libya.

The killings in Libya Tuesday of U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi is said to have been sparked by anger over a video mocking the founding prophet of Islam, according to the New York Times.
A mob attacked the consulate Tuesday, and Stevens and three American staffers were killed in the attack. Sean Smith, an information management officer, and Stevens are the only two killed who have been named, pending relative notification, according to the State Department.
The Huffington Post reported this morning that the maker of the video, Sam Bacile, 56, of California, has gone into hiding. But Bacile maintained that "Islam is a cancer" and the intent of his film was a political statement condemning the religion.

The filmmaker has apparently gone into hiding. Why am I not surprised?
Now, here in America, that kind of idiocy is permitted under the First Amendment. In America we have the right to freedom of speech, and freedom from having to be responsible for the consequences of what we say. Somebody else will do it for you, suffer the consequences that is. You make a film or burn somebody’s holy book and generally act like a moron , and somebody else, a soldier or a diplomat or even just some random American who happens to be in the wrong place, why they’ll be happy to step up and take responsibility for your freedom of speech. And you? Well you can hide behind your rights and your internet anonymity and your God and bask in your patriotism. Good on you.
Ironic, isn’t it?
Ironic that the very people who scream loudest and demand that the “poor” and the “socialists” and the “liberals” and the “parasites” start taking responsibility for their lives are the very same florid patriots who never seem to take responsibility for their own actions, for their own words, for the consequences of their hatred and bigotry. They’ll condemn the violence inspired by the Occupy movement, but defend the violence inspired by Right To Lifers or some hateful bigot on Talk Radio. One has to wonder if Romney and his followers would be so quick to defend freedom of speech if that YouTube video depicted Jesus gay marrying Brigham Young.

There is a play which has been on broadway for more than a year. It is called "The Book of Mormon". It makes fun of that religion and has some very mean spirited songs in it. Including one about gay Mormons. I have never heard anyone say a word about this play. I wonder if the same play writes would have the courage to do a satirical play about Islam? Want to take a guess?

The idiot in question was questioned voluntarily. It was believed he may have violated his federal probation by using the internet. He was also a convicted drug dealer and con man. I do read non-MSM news sites...and I might suggest that you actually READ them too, not just the headlines.
