With clear skies expected, Santa Claus will begin his annual trek to Portsmouth neighborhoods on Saturday evening, Dec. 1, according to OnAquidneck.com.
Pulled by a tractor, Santa and his sleigh will drive down West Main Road this coming Saturday and hear the Christmas wishes of every boy and girl.
Santa Claus will make his way through various Portsmouth neighborhoods through Dec. 10. The sleigh will pass by houses every evening except on Sundays. In the event of rain or severe weather conditions, the sleigh will not travel.
On Sunday, Dec. 9, Santa Claus will make a special visit to the Glen Manor House at 2:45 p.m. Children are welcome to visit the manor and give Santa their Christmas wish list.
Santa would also like to visit special needs children or children who cannot leave the house. Parents who would like Santa to make a visit are asked to e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The event is organized every year by a group of volunteers and is not a town or fire department-sponsored event.
