The Portsmouth School Committee unanimously elected member David Croston to serve as its new chairman on Tuesday night.
The committee also unanimously elected newcomer Terri-Denise Cortvriend as the vice chairwoman, according to meeting highlights. Thomas Vadney was elected to serve as clerk.
Croston welcomed the school committee's newest members: Emily A. Copeland, Cortvriend, Andrew V. Kelly and John L. Wojichowski. All of the new members are Democrats.
All of the members were voted into office during this past General Election.
The school committee also accepted the resignation of Robert Ettinger, principal for Hathaway Elementary School. The school department recently posted an advertisement for this position.

“Agenda” at the helm of a small town school committee. Now that’s comical. Yes, I’m sure he’s just using the school committee (which he’s been on for years) as a stepping stone to seize power and move on to bigger aspirations. Maybe he’s planning to overthrow…the Public Works Department? The Water and Fire District?
ptownie I think there’s a crack in your tinfoil hat.

He is a power hungry crazy person. You brains elected him and the new people you elected put him in power. His mirror is getting lots of attention these days. He has only one agenda to be king of the schools and he is a big liar. I remember what a snake he was during the gym building. His mommy must be so proud, what an achievment. Get your rope ready he will need to be strung up soon and sent him back to the asylum for a higher dose of treatment.
