Portsmouth School Committee Appoints New Finance Director
The Portsmouth School Committee voted Tuesday night to appoint a new Director of Finance and Administration.
The following is from a press release from the Portsmouth School District.
The Portsmouth School Committee approved the hiring of Christopher DiIuro to the position of Director of Finance and Administration.
The vote took place Tuesday night at the school committee meeting.
Chris is a finance and accounting executive with 20 years of experience. He is a graduate of the Boston College Carroll School of Management, where he earned degrees in both finance and accounting.
"I am absolutely thrilled we were able to attract Chris to Portsmouth. His tenure here will be transformational, said David Croston, committee chairman. "Chris stood out to the sub-committee in all facets: accounting, personnel, and operations. Portsmouth is very lucky to get someone with such great character, knowledge and integrity."
Prior to joining the Portsmouth School Department, Chris worked in public accounting for Ernest & Young LLC and, most recently, was vice president finance and retail controller for CVS Caremark.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Chris lives in East Greenwich with his wife and his two children.

Jane, watch him. Severe case of Megalomania, Narcisitic Personality Disorder. There are several other clinical signs. Someone close to him should coax him into departing so he can focus on getting some clinical help.

Seriously, you are digging a deeper hole with each comment. What makes you think I am not acquainted with him? And what makes you think someone won't call you on making libelous statements? Unless of course you are his doctor...in which case if any of what you said were true, you would be in serious trouble for breach of confidentiality. Is it possible that you have a personal beef with Dave and this is your way of lashing out? I would strongly suggest that if you wish to express dissatisfaction with specific things about his performance as a school committee member that you focus on those issues and not engage in slanderous personal attacks.

Elected people choose to be in the public eye. Anything can be said about them. The fact that you are friends with Him is not relevant, that is obvious from your earlier comments. The fact remains, a mentally ill person is in the lead role of the school committee. That is not good for the health of the school department.

Um, i use my real first name. Is Old Townie on your birth certificate? Ill tell you what, id be happy to include my last name if you provide your full name and address. As for baseless insults, quite to the contrary. These are observations and opinions about the mental state of the head of the school board. I have watched him at meetings over two years both on cable and have attended a few meetings. He is off his rocker and as a voter and parent i am concerned that this individual is making decisions that impact the schools and the town.

First and foremost, I'm not throwing around accusations about someone's mental state. Secondly, I really don't care who you are, but I know this much, you are not qualified to diagnose anyone's mental condition.
If you don't like the way an elected official is doing his/her job, then get off your fat behind and go to a meeting and speak out. Don't hide behind anonymity. But you won't because you like the cowardly way out.

Again, you are saying all of this on a public forum. People are forming opinions of you based on your posts. If I were you I would consider my words carefully, especially if you are serious about standing up in front of fellow townspeople to question the mental stability of another.

Thanks for the advive Jane. I think i can handle the public discussion. Its long overdue, uncomfortable yes, but in the best interests of the school district. In the meantime why dont you view some meeting of the committee over the past two years, it will be obvios to you that he is a very sick person

I've actually been to several of them and would not characterize any member of the board in a derogatory fashion. While I admit, I do not always agree with them, I do know they are trying their best. And what are you doing? Throwing around idiotic labels and your "expert" diagnosis....I think the person that needs serious mental help is you. You are clearly delusional and a danger to those around you.
