Portsmouth Natives Share 'Memories' on New Facebook Page
Do you remember the old roller skating rink? How about Joe's Lounge? Well if you do, you might want to check out this new Facebook 'Memories' page.
Do you remember the old roller skating rink where Countryside Day Care is located now? How about Kauffman's Hardware Store? Or walking to Nadeau's?
Well, you might just want to check out a new Facebook "Memories" page properly entitled, "If you grew up in Portsmouth, RI share some memories."
Native Portsmouth residents, both young and old, are posting their memories of growing up in the small town from dancing at the Portsmouth Abbey to something called simply "The Duck."
The Facebook group's message is simple and posted at the top of the page:
"For people who either grew up, lived in or passed through Portsmouth RI for any period of time....Share your memory of our town, the birthplace of democracy....We would love to hear from you!!!"
The open group has already reached 109 members as of Friday morning and is growing fast. This is just one of many "Memory" sites on Facebook, which has quickly taken off or "gone viral" in recent weeks.
