Portsmouth Mexican Restaurant to Close Its Doors
El Parque announced its closing Friday on Facebook.
In a Facebook wall message Friday, el Parque Restaurant, Portsmouth's only Mexican restaurant, announced it was closing its doors.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, el Parque has decided to close our doors at our Island Park location. We WILL RE-OPEN at a new location in the months to come. We will be back better than ever! :) Thank you all for your patronage and we hope to see you at our new location. Like us on Facebook to keep updated!- Jon Canario (FHM)
Further details about the closing were unavailable Friday.
El Parque is located in Island Park next to Tremblay's bar and The Beach House. Earlier this year, the Mexican-fare restaurant was named in Portsmouth Patch's Readers' Choice poll as the best place to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
Did you ever eat at el Parque? What was your favorite dish on the menu? Tell us in the comment section below!

Yes, we eat there often, however we always had their Burgers as it was real, hand formed burger with real, fresh lettuce (not bagged lettuce)... We also enjoy the veggie pizza often!! Will await the new location and good luck!!!

Wonderful food! Love the Shrimp Chili Renello. The only Mexican place nearby. Sometimes the little kids' noise got a little too much though.

Buffalo chicken burrito! Amazing. Will miss this place being in walking distance, I have been a fan for years. Hope they get a great new location as the bar side was a bit run down. Also hope something new/enjoyable moves in.

Rhode Island Stuck at Bottom of Top States For Business
If there is a top state for business in our annual study, there must be a bottom state. For 2012, that dubious distinction goes to Rhode Island — for the second year in a row.

It's really sickening how Joe Sousa always seems to put a negative twist on everything posted here on Patch. Like RI is the only state with this problem? Wake up Joe the whole country is this way! Perhaps you need to find a new hobby besides sitting at your computer 24/7 and posting negativity, Perhaps you should try and be part of a solution instead of being a part of the problem.
