A Portsmouth family, vacationing on Cape Cod this week, got the surprise of a lifetime after seeing a great white shark eat a seal in front of their eyes. 

According to the Cape Cod Times, Peter Mottur of Portsmouth and his family were on a fishing boat, only 50 feet from shore, when they saw a great white shark with tags Wednesday. 

Mottur grabbed a video camera and filmed this footage of a great white shark eating a seal. Warning: the video contains graphic and violent images. 

Mottur, a treasurer and advisor for The Pennfield School, was on the boat with his wife, mother and two children, ages 9 and 11, at the time of the sighting.
