Justin Vars, 24, of 196 Riverside St., Portsmouth, turned himself in at the Portsmouth police station on Thursday, Feb. 17, at 8:15 a.m.

Vars was wanted on an affidavit arrest warrant after allegedly sending harassing text messages to an ex-girlfriend. 

Police issued the warrant after receiving a complaint from a 23-year-old Portsmouth female, who said she was receiving harassing text messages from Vars. When she asked him to stop, he refused, she told police.

Vars was charged with making harassing phone calls, domestic.
