A furniture delivery man was arrested Monday for allegedly stealing prescription Oxycontin from a Portsmouth home.

Joseph Doran, 41, of Avon, MA, was arrested on Monday at 2 p.m. and charged with larceny.

The arrest stemmed from an incident on Feb. 21. Furniture was delivered to a Fischer Circle residence.

During the delivery, one of the delivery workers asked to use the bathroom. The resident, a 69-year-old man, later noticed several Oxycontin prescription pills missing.

An investigation led to Doran, who was one of the delivery workers. He was called in for questioning at the police station, where he was later arrested and arraigned before a justice of the peace.
