Police Log: 3 Arrests in Past 3 Days
The following arrest information was supplied by the Portsmouth Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Portsmouth police made the following arrests in the last three days.
- Olivia Skutnik, 19, of 64 Canonchet Drive, Portsmouth, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 3:45 a.m. Skutnik was wanted on a warrant issued by the Newport Police Department on a 24-hour domestic incident. Portsmouth police arrested Skutnik at her residence and turned her over to the custody of Newport police.
- Gregory Chadwick, 30, of Pawtucket, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 5:30 p.m. after a motor vehicle stop on East Main Road near Park Avenue Travel. The vehicle, operated by Chadwick, was stopped for apparently speeding. Police say they detected an aroma of marijuana coming from the vehicle. They later found a small plastic baggie containing a small amount of marijuana inside a cigarette case in the vehicle, police said. Chadwick was charged with possession of marijuana. He was later released with a summons to appear in district court on Sept. 1.
- Jason Ledsworth, 40, of 49 Greenfield Ave., Portsmouth, was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 18, at 5:30 p.m. Police were called to the area of Rhode Island Boulevard for a report that a vehicle had struck a mailbox. The vehicle was also seen allegedly driving on the wrong side of the residential roadway, or the left lane of travel. The vehicle was later located in the south yard of Brewers Sakonnet Marina. The operator, Ledworth, apparently failed a field sobriety test. He was transported to the police station, where he allegedly refused to submit to a chemical test. He was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
