While there were no reports of a water spout like the one near Quonset Point, this morning's storm did wreck havoc on local residents.
The Portsmouth Fire Department responded to six weather-related calls. In Middletown, a man was transported to Newport Hospital after lightning struck a metal building.
Flooding from torrential downpours, lightning and windy conditions created images like the ones above, as well as traffic along East and West Main Roads. One resident reported that lightning struck a tree in the Spinnaker Run neighborhood (as seen above).

Maybe if the storms knew it was gonna be 8 bucks to pass over the island, they'd think twice before coming this way!! ;)
