Official 'Moonrise Kingdom' Trailer Released
The Wes Anderson film is set to hit theaters in late May.
The release of the official movie trailer for "Moonrise Kingdom" last Thursday brings much anticipation to the Wes Anderson-directed film, set to hit theaters on Friday, May 25. It was filmed throughout Newport County, including on Prudence Island in 2011.
The film features an all-star cast, including Ed Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Bruce Willis, Tilda Swinton, Harvey Keitel and Bob Balaban. Many of these stars, as you'll recall, were spotted throughout Newport and Middletown this past summer. Murray even attended a Newport Gulls game. The film based some operations out of the former John F. Kennedy Middle School in Middletown.
"Moonrise Kingdom" follows the tale of a young boy and girl (performed by Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward) who fall in love and run away together while a variety of townspeople mobilize to search for them on a unique island off the coast of New England in the 1960’s.
