Man Transported By Rescue After Vehicle Crash
A two-vehicle crash slows down traffic Monday afternoon on West Main Road.
A man was transported by Portsmouth ambulance for treatment of minor injuries Monday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash on West Main Road at King Charles Drive.
Two vehicles — one with a Florida license plate and another with a Rhode Island plate — collided just after 1 p.m. at the busy intersection near the Kings Grant Fellowship.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
Portsmouth Rescue pulled one man from the dark green vehicle with Rhode Island plates. The man was carried on a stretcher to a Portsmouth ambulance and transported to Newport Hospital. His injuries are believed to be minor.
A second driver refused medical treatment at the scene, according to Capt. Howard Tighe.
Both of the vehicles were towed from the scene. A member of the Portsmouth Police Department directed traffic around the two vehicles during the response.
The vehicle collision occurred during a busy morning and afternoon for the Portsmouth Fire Department. Crews responded to six medical calls and a minor stove fire before the crash.
