Don't Forget to Vote Today for Water Commissioner!

Three Portsmouth residents are hoping to be elected Water Commissioner this Wednesday.

Three Portsmouth residents are hoping to "wash out" the competition in votes this Wednesday for the position of Water Commissioner.

Registered voters residing in the Portsmouth Water and Fire District will elect one clerk and one water commissioner today for a three-year term to the seven member Administrative Board.

Incumbent Philip T. Driscoll of 169 Immokolee Drive and James E. Hall of 45 Lehigh Terrace are running for the clerk’s seat.

Terri-Denise Cortvriend of 46 Mary Lane is running for water commissioner.

Two other candidates, former Town Council President Peter McIntyre, and Allen Shers, are running as write-in candidates for water commissioner.

"It's another way to give back to the community," McIntyre said when asked why he was running.

The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the district's office at 1944 East Main Road.
