Dolphins Spotted Off Prudence Island
A local resident spotted these dolphins swimming in Narragansett Bay on Thursday morning.
Local resident Kenny Raposa captured these photos of dolphins swimming this morning in Narragansett Bay.
Raposa says he was in his boat on his way to work on Prudence Island when he came upon a pod of common dolphins. The dolphins were between Dyer and Prudence Islands at 8 a.m.
At one point, Raposa says the dolphins swam right under the boat.
A pod of dolphins was also spotted recently in Newport.
Have you seen any dolphins in Narragansett Bay? If so, where? Tell us in the comment section below!

Yes, my friend and I saw a pod of small very playful dolphins including what looked like some juvenile dolphins at about 4:45am on Thursday September 27 just a few miles east of Point Judith. They first appeared as streaks of solid phosphorescence streaming and zig zagging around the boat before they settled in for about 15 minutes of playing under the bows of the Concordia Yawl we were sailing back to Padanaram from CT. I also spoke with a mechanic from Concordia boatyard who said he saw a pod in the same place a couple of days later.
