Did You Drive Over the New Sakonnet River Bridge Today?
What did you think of the new traffic pattern?
The new Sakonnet River Bridge opened for Route 24 northbound traffic today, Sept. 20, for the first time after years of construction.
In approximately one week, the new bridge also will carry southbound traffic, according to the Department of Transportation.
Portsmouth Patch wants to know what you thought as you drove over the bridge for the first time!
Were you impressed by the view? Did the route seem easier? Were you impressed by the bridge's new style?
Tell us your thoughts in the comment section below!

My wife and i were certainly impressed with the new bridge. The roadbed was as smooth as silk and the slightly different views that the bridge affords were fun to take in. We look forward to using the south-bound lanes when they become available.

The roadway was nice and smooth, the view was lovely, the traffic pattern easy to maneuver, but I still don't want to pay a toll!!!
