Congressional Candidate Brendan Doherty To Discuss Bridge Tolls
Brendan Doherty, candidate for the first Congressional District, will hold a news conference discussing his views on the Sakonnet River Bridge toll today at 9:30 a.m.
First Congressional District candidate Brendan Doherty will hold a news conference discussing his concerns about the planned $4 tolls on the new Sakonnet River Bridge today at 9:30 a.m.
Doherty will suggest federal remedies for reforms that could provide relief over the new planned tolls. East Bay and Aquidneck Island residents are infuriated over the prospect of having to pay tolls to cross the new bridge. The new bridge will open soon connecting Tiverton with Aquidneck Island and will serve drivers throughout the region.
In a press release, Doherty called the $4.00 toll another economic roadblock for the region. Some families fear the toll could cost them $1,500 to $2,500 a year, a real blow to families who must rely on the bridge for business and daily activities.
The news conference will take place at the corner of Riverview and Central avenues, overlooking the new bridge from the Tiverton side. Riverview Avenue intersects Main Road near the bridge in Tiverton.

This gentleman is willing to help us, if you know who he is and his record then you understand he is coming to help, From just a small movement of 2 or 3 we have grown to where we cannot and will not be ignored, We still must continue on getting louder, speaking out, look for this fight to become more public in days to come! you should all stand proud

Doherty was just pandering to the people of Aquidneck Island and Tiverton.
He's running for Congress not a state office.
Do you actually think he's going to Washington to persuade his Republican buddies to lift the toll on the bridge? As if they could do anything about it..

There is one overriding reason to vote for Brendan Doherty, He's not David Cicilline and thats all you need to know.
