Candidate Claims Win in Recount for Dist. 71
Dan Gordon says he has been named the winner of the requested recount for the House District 71 race.
Dan Gordon has recieved the highest amount of votes in the recount for the District 71 seat, Gordon said Thursday.
Due to Veterans Day, employees of the state Board of Elections could not be reached Thursday to confirm.
According to Gordon, he has recieved 2,707, while his opponent has received 2,660.
George S. Alzaibak, the Democratic candidate for House seat, District 71, had requested a recount of votes, which was held late Wednesday afternoon at the Board of Elections office in Providence.
Alzaibak lost in the House race against Republican candidate Daniel P. Gordon Jr., according to the results on Nov. 2. The vote then was 2,705 or 50.5% of the vote for Gordon, while Alzaibak received 2,654 or 49.5% of the vote.
Candidates throughout the state had until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9, to request a recount.
District 71 includes the communities of Little Compton, Tiverton and Portsmouth.

Seems that Al/Sherri/Dan doesn't appreciate stacking cups. However, I'm noticing that spelling isn't so high on his list either :-). Life has hit an all-time low when you have to create aliases to compliment yourself on your own personal appearance. No one should experience that isolation. Sorry Dan.
