Blizzard Response: What Grade Would You Give Portsmouth?
On a scale from A-F, what grade would you give Portsmouth?
Friday's blizzard dumped almost two feet of snow on Portsmouth, which left the roads impassable, knocked down trees and shut off power to all of Aquidneck Island.
On an A - F scale, what grade would you give the town through this winter storm?
This relates to plowing, shelter and services. Provide constructive feedback if you give a less than perfect grade.
What is the grade you give the town? Tell us in the comment section below!

I'd give them an A. These guys worked extremely hard not just during the storm but in the days leading up to the storm in preparation and in the days following the blizzard in their clean up efforts. Portsmouth's streets (town roads and state roads) were by far the best in the area and the DPW did a great job in keeping up with a massive storm with fast accumulating snow and high winds.

A+ - The crews of Portsmouth's DPW are terrific! What a task to be out in that horrendous weather, clearing roadways only to have Mother Nature undo your work.
I greatly appreciate the safety of our roads in town..and also appreciate the clean-up truck in Spring clearing away all the winter sand.

I don't believe in giving anyone a grade ... I believe in acknowledging how bad the storm was and how hard our Town of Portsmouth employees (ALL of them) worked for us. Things took TIME to clear away and there are going to be nay sayers, but it is impossible to please all of the people all of the time. I, for one, am proud of all they accomplished in such a small amount of time, under the circumstances.

Been through many storms here in Portsmouth, I have to say our DPW has, in my opinion, consistently done a great job in keeping the streets open. Travel around to some of the other cities and towns in the State and you will soon appreciate the good work by our town - Thank you Portsmouth DPW!. I see them as A+.

I would give it an A-, except for that DPW plow that filled in the snow 5 minutes after I spent 45 minutes shoveling out in front of our mailbox. CURSE YOU RED BARON!!!!! actually I'm quite sure I did at the time.

I would give them an F. Stringham road was a joke. They didn't plow for days and when they did there was only one lane of traffic for a 2 lane road.

Stringham Rd is actually not a town or state road. It's maintained by the Navy Base and usually subcontracted out- so that is no reflection on the town's response to the blizzard.
