The Newport Running Club organizes the annual Pie Run, held Thanksgiving morning, in Middletown.
This year's race will be on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, starting promptly at 8:30 am. The 5 mile USATF sanctioned road race and 3 mile non-competitive walk starts and ends in front of the Newport County YMCA, 792 Valley Road, and is a scenic course with panoramic views of Sachuest Beach.
Entrants are asked to bring one non-perishable food item to be contributed to a local food bank. Long sleeve technical shirts are available for all preregistered participants whose registrations are received prior to November 8th, 2012. Entry cost is $25, both pre and post registration.
