Remember the good old days when the transfer station was included in your taxes. I have no kids in the public schools, I don't call the police or the fire dept. I pay thousands of dollars in taxes and have to go pay $125 to put a sticker on my car to take my own garbage to the dump. What a deal, only in Rhode Island.

I took a walk today in my neighborhood and was noticing the large number of homes that had bags of garbage and overflowing recycling outside...and I had to wonder... with this economy and more and more people finding the $125 harder to pay, and therefore putting it off longer and longer... The result is a lot of extra garbage blowing around and littering our town. I would wonder if it was possible to charge less, say $50...you would probably get a whole lot more people buying the stickers and less garbage being carelessly tossed in our town.

Thanks for the comment tsgcPORT. Anyone else think the sticker should cost $50?
