Portsmouth Garden Club members have started working on the town gardens so Spring must really be here! They will choose the plants on the Club's Plant Sale Day at Island Garden Shop on Thursday, May 24th.
At a recent meeting,Ted Clement,Executive Director of Aquidneck Land Trust spoke of ALT's mission to conserve Aquidneck Island's open spaces. The talk was most interesting and well received by club members. The ALT's current endeavour is to conserve the Glen in Portsmouth and to do work on the buildings there. We fully support their work as one of the club's objectives is to support the preservation of natural beauty and enviromental resources. There will be a meeting at the town hall on
Tuesday, May 22nd, at 7:00 and conserving the Glen is on the agenda. Come to the meeting and hear what ALT wants to do for the town of Portsmouth.
