Portsmouth Economic Development Committee Seeks Your Ideas for Revenue Growth
The Portsmouth Economic Development Committee (PEDC) is seeking your ideas on how the town could raise revenue over the next five years.
Please keep in mind the ideas should not raise taxes, nor create new user fees, nor necessarily build new residences.
The PEDC will use the principles of “Smart Growth” and use the best ideas to prepare a list of actionable steps that will generate new revenue for the town.
Some examples of the ideas already submitted to the PEDC are:
- Market and promote the land that is already available for commercial development.
- Investigate the potential of a second wind turbine generator.
- Explore the possibility of sports and art complexes and a banquet facility.
- Examine the potential of a corporate sponsor for the Portsmouth Multi-Purpose Senior Center.
