Contraulations to the Portsmouth Middle School Boys Basketball team for an outstanding performance in yesterday's Rhode Island middle school state basketball championship game. They defeated number 1 seed, the Johnston Ferri Middle School Jaguars, by a score of 72-61. High scorers for the game included Portsmouth 8th graders Cole Swider with 25 points and Chris Herren with 20 points. Fellow 8th graders Zack Rahilly, Matt Clark and Jack Page worked hard, out-rebounding the Jaguars. Seventh grade point guard James Reilly had a solid game on both defensive and offensive ends of the court. Thanks to all the fans that attended the game, and those who supported the team throughout the season. It was a great team win and a perfect end to a fantastic season!
