Phoenix Bulk Donates to PHS Turf & Track Project- 2 New Community Fundraisers Lauched
Friends of the PHS Arts & Athletic Complex is a group of dedicated parents who support athletics, music, youth sports and extracurricular activities at Portsmouth High School in Rhode Island. This group has organized a massive $1.6 million fundraising campaign to replace the 25 year old running track and the overused central athletic field.
We are pleased to announce that Phoenix Bulk Carriers U.S. has just awarded a $50,000 grant toward the PHS Arts & Athletic Complex project. Phoenix Bulk joins a number of other, community-minded donors who are helping advance this project. To date, $576,470.00 has been raised.
In addition to this generous donation by Phoenix Bulk, we are excited to announce 2 new community fundraising campaigns that will enable more people to contribute and help us succeed for the benefit of our youth and community. The first one is called “Back the Track- Turf the Field” where anyone can purchase “a symbolic meter of track” or “a symbolic block of turf”, for as little as $50 for the track and $100 for the turf field. All donors will be recognized on our Back the Track –Turf the Field sign displayed at the new athletic complex. This is a great way to leave a legacy, make your mark at the complex or memorialize someone special.
The second campaign, “Win Your Dream Car Raffle” lets you purchase a raffle ticket for $100 and have the chance to win a free car worth up to $25,000. With over 5 dealerships to shop from, your odds of winning will be no more than 1 in 750.
Our goal is to “break ground” by June 2013 in order for the complex to be completed by the September 2013 school year. Donations of any sizes are needed and very much appreciated! ALL tax deductible donations will be accepted through the Portsmouth High School Athletic Boosters Club, a 501(C)3 organization. A special-account has been set-up exclusively for the Arts & Athletic Complex project.
You will receive a tax deductible receipt from the PHS Athletic Boosters once your donation has been processed. For more information and details or any questions or concerns please contact:
