Fall Citizenship Award - Pennfield School
On Friday, December 14th Kate Kelley, an 8th grade student at the Pennfield School received the Fall Citizenship Award from Mattie Kemp, Assistant Head of School. The citation stated the following:
"It might go without saying, however I’m going to say it anyway: Although it must be a uniquely awkward position - being the head of school’s daughter, Kate has handled it quite gracefully her entire Pennfield career. She is unfailingly polite, kind, caring and considerate to both students and adults. Kate exhibits a high level of maturity for an eighth grade student. She is very involved with the life of The Pennfield School. Whether in a leadership and representative role as a member of Student Council and Oak Society, or athletically, Kate is a terrific team player who exudes tremendous school pride. Though we have all seen her be goofy at times (in a good way), Kate is at her core, a dedicated student and upstanding school and community citizen. This year, Kate has been Pennfield’s best ambassador to our newest friends from China, helping Emily and Christina feel welcome from the moment they arrived this past summer. In so many positive ways, Kate is a wonderful example of the values Pennfield seeks to instill in its students. Congratulations, Kate."
